The power couple, actress Anushka Sharma and Indian Cricket Captain Virat Kohli, who have been dating for over 3 years, finally got hitched on Monday, December 11, in an intimate ceremony in Italy.

The wedding was attended by close family and a few friends as Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had wished their wedding to be a very private affair. Anushka's parents and brother Karnesh Sharma and Virat's mom and brother's family were in attendance along with their cousins and friends. The wedding was performed as per Hindu rituals.

But before the wedding ceremony, this past weekend was full of pre-wedding rituals with close family members and friends. Just like a regular family, Virat and Anushka exchanged rings in a private ceremony. The couple looked adorable during their engagement ceremony as Virat gave Anushka a sweet kiss post their ceremony as Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' played in the background.

Anushka looked elegant in her velvet saree whereas Virat looked dapper in a tux. Ace fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee had designed their ensemble for both the bride and the groom. They were seen feeding sweets to one of their family members after the ceremony.

It has been learned that the newly married couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on 21st December which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on 26th December. Post the reception, they will travel to South Africa where Virat Kohli will start prepping for the upcoming series and Anushka will spend New Year’s Eve with him.

On the work front, Anushka Sharma will return to Mumbai in January 2018 to begin the next schedule of Aanand L Rai’s film with Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai. She will also start prepping for Sui Dhaaga- Made in India as the shooting for the same starts in February 2018 with Varun Dhawan. Anushka will also be busy with the promotions of Pari which is releasing on 9th February.
